IPL: Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab out from the race and KKR keep hopes to continue. Rajasthan who has the four best players of England Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler and Tom Curran in their team are now out of the race of IPL.
The hope of King XI Punjab was ended when Chennai Super Kings defeated Punjab by 9 wickets in the earlier match on Saturday.
Mumbai Indians is the only team who have won 9 matches out of 13 matches and also have the highest 18 pts numbers. But the success does not guarantee KKR a position to continue in the IPL.
Will Kolkata Knight Riders Be able to continue in IPL?
The success gives no guarantee to KKR to place a position in the Play-Offs, still, a remarkable defeat either by Royal Challengers Bangalore or Delhi Capitals on Monday will decide Kolkata performance according to Sunrisers Hyderabad result on Tuesday. KKR lost 7 wickets against Hyderabad but also scored 191-7 especially thanks to Morgan who scored 68 runs of 35 balls which included 6 sixes.
Morgan had also shared 45 with Andre Russel who scored 25 of 11 balls and 40 with Pat Cummins(15 of 11).
Significantly they had to win the match by a huge number of margin to boost up their net run-rate and enhance their play-off chances, The Royals had scored 19 off Cummins’ first five balls before slipping to 37-5 during the powerplay.
Pat Cummins had replied wonderfully finishing with figures of 4-34 involving the wickets of Stokes and Australian team-mate Steve Smith.
The Royals had never been able to recover from their dreadful start, falling well short of their target, and the negative effect on their run-rate means they finish bottom of the table for the first time. Stokes had ended the tournament with 285 runs in eight games, while Buttle had scored 328 runs and Archer had taken 20 wickets. These three should be included in England’s white-ball tour of South Africa, which will start on 27 November.
